January 24, 2019
January 24, 2019: The Metro Vancouver Aboriginal Executive Council (MVAEC) and the Metro Vancouver Indigenous Services Society (MVISS), as well as its member organizations, condemn sexual exploitation of minors in all its forms.
We are aware according to published news reports that Mr. Kenneth Clement has been charged with “obtaining for consideration the sexual services of a person under the age of 18.”
Mr. Clement has resigned from the Board of Directors of MVAEC and MVISS, effective immediately.
We wish to reassure our member agencies and the Indigenous people we serve, that at no time, did Mr. Clement have any access to confidential client files nor did he participate in any of the healing programs and services, specifically those offered to youth.
The matter is now before the courts and we will make no further statements except to say that Mr. Clement is no longer affiliated with MVAEC/MVISS or its member agencies.
